Assam wildlife with Meghalaya
Day 1 Guwahati
Transfer to the hotel. Later visit Kamakhya Devi temple and after that visit Kalakshetra. Evening enjoy river cruise on mighty Bramhaputra River.
Night stay at Guwahati.
Day 2 Guwahati
After breakfast ,drive to Shillong. En-route visit Barapani Umiam Lake, a majestic placid lake surrounded by sylvan hills. Upon arrival, check into a hotel. Later sightseeing of Shillong, visit Cathedral Church, Lady Hydari Park, the Orchidarium.
Night stay at Shillong.
Day 3 Shillong – Cherrapunjee
Early in the morning after breakfast,drive to Cherrapunjee, which is barely 65 km from Shillong. It is the wettest destination in the world and on drive to Cherrapunjee,come across roaring waterfalls diving into unfathomable gorges. Enroute visit Elephant Falls & Shillong Peak. Upon arrival, check into a hotel. Later visit the famous Nohsngithiang Falls, Nohkalikai Falls and Mawsmai Cave. Return to the hotel by evening.
Night stay at Shillong.
Day 4 Cherrapunjee – Living Roots Bridge
Early in the morning after breakfast, we will go on a guided trek to visit the Double Decker living Routes Bridge, the most brilliant of all the living bridges found in the world. The trek from the resort will take about 05 hours.
The scenery of the places is beyond description. Your will get amazed by walking over the roots that can appear quite scary in the beginning. However, the picturesque forest all around and the pleasant sound of waterfalls will compensate that scary feeling with unmatched glee.
Return to the resort by evening for enjoying a comfortable overnight stay.
Night stay at Cherrapunjee.
Day 5 Cherrapunjee – Mawlynnong – Dawki – Shillong
After breakfast drive to Mawlynnong – Asia’s cleanest village, Tree House, Living Root Bridge, Sky View Point, Balancing rock. After lunch proceed to Dawki, Umngot river. Evening back to Shillong.
Night stay at Shillong.
Day 6 Shillong – Nameri
In the morning proceed to the Nameri National Park, situated within the foothills of eastern Himalayas. Upon reaching, transfer to a nature camp. In the evening free to visit the nearby Pygmy Hog Foundation and learn about the species. The Pygmy Hogs are one of the world’s most endangered mammals.
Night stay at Nameri.
Day 7 Nameri
This morning go on an exciting river rafting eon Jia Bhoroli River. For the same we will drive 25 km from the resort towards the river upstream and from there enjoy the downstream rafting on the inflatable raft. Here get a chance to see lots of migratory waterfowls and if one gets lucky then can even spot the Royal Bengal Tigers and the Elephants on the banks of the river.
After river rafting, return to the camp site for lunch. After lunch go on nature trek to see more of wildlife or can also go for angling.
Night stay at Nameri.
Day 8 Nameri – Kaziranga
After breakfast leave for Kaziranga National Park, the Rhinos country and a World Heritage Site. Upon arrival at Kaziranga,check into a wildlife resort. Later visit Tea Plantation.
Night stay at wildlife resort at Nameri.
Day 9 Kaziranga
Early morning (5:30 am) explore central Range of Kaziranga National Park on Elephant Safari. On return explore the central range on a jeep safari. Return for lunch and proceed to Western Range of Kaziranga National Park on jeep.
Night stay at Kaziranga.
Day 10 Kaziranga – Guwahati
After breakfast we will drive to Guwahati airport or railway station for onward connection with cherishing memories of the tour.
